(Correspondents: Lei Lan, Wang Junwei; Photographs: Wang Junwei) On the evening of March 3, Professor Hu Honghong of the Law School gave a lecture for our Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan students in Wentai Building 301 on the theme of the legal system of Hong Kong and Macao, explaining the Constitution, Basic Law and National Security Law. Our Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan students enthusiastically signed up and actively participated in the lecture.
In the lecture, Hu Honghong introduced the basic philosophy and policy of the state on the policy of “one country, two systems”, detailed the functions of the SAR government and its important relationship with the Central Government, and encouraged students to read and analyze the text, to connect theory with practice, and to adopt the thinking of the rule of law. He hoped that the students will understand the origin and basis of the legal system of Hong Kong and Macau as well as the future development trend through this lecture. The students responded enthusiastically and took the initiative to ask questions, saying that they would benefit greatly.
Associating the national affairs with the school’s academic characteristics, the lecture led the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan students to deeply understand the “one country, two systems” policy from the perspective of professionalism, legalization and institutionalization, which greatly enriched the connotation of national affairs education for these students. Moreover, it was contribution to the construction of our national education platform and the education work of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
