Course Objectives

This course intends to furnish the postgraduate students with both the classic material of the International law and academic writing skill. Through learning the course, students will develop their comprehension, analysis, and research skills, especially in order to become proficient in applying international law research methods and ideas to the study of international law issues.Specifically, it intends to enable students to:

1. Learn to understand the basic framework of the body of knowledge of public international law;

2. Thinking in relation to reality, focusing on analysis and ideas;

3. Improve academic writing skills.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Course Description

(200 words)

This course introduces how to read classic material of the international law. The classic viewpoints are the focus for students to read, comprehend, understand, and memorize, and note down. By reading , students need to figure out the reasoning methods taken by the author to prove their viewpoints . By reading students can find the controversy in the classic book, which can provide clues for their to choose the research topic in the future.

This course also introduces how to improve academic writing skills.It mainly consists of seven parts. Including determine the topic, make framework, argumentative methods, compose introduction and conclusion; abstract and keywords, add footnote and reference literature.
